    Does your client live alone or with a small family, live in a high rateable value property, or are they a low water user? They could save money by switching to a meter. Normally we can fit a meter for free.

    Assist - Wessex Water

    Apply for Assist

     

    Assist aims to help clients in extreme financial difficulty who cannot afford their water bill. Available to be used alongside our Restart scheme, Assist means customers pay a lower bill than normal based on their ability to pay.

    Apply for Assist for organisations

    Assist enables organisations who provide housing for people who are likely to be eligible for the Assist tariff to apply for Assist rather than pay standard charges.

    Pension Credit Form - Wessex Water

    Apply for Pension Credit Discount

    If your client is receiving pension credit or if state pension is their only source of income we may be able to offer them a discount of around 20% off their bill. To apply, all adults in their household must be in receipt of pension credit.

    WaterSure Plus - Wessex Water

    WaterSure Plus is aimed at customers who have a water meter and live in a low income household with unavoidably high water use. It limits the amount they have to pay.

    Spread the costs of bills

    Flexiplans

    Apply for Flexiplan

    Flexible payment plans are available to clients who are having short-term problems paying their bill. On a plan, they make reduced amount towards their water bill for an agreed period of time and catch up on payments later.

    If your client is behind with their water bill and in receipt of benefits they can pay arrears directly from their benefits under Water Direct.

    Repay water debt

    Restart is available for clients who have significant water debt that they can't afford to repay, but who can afford their ongoing water bills (either in full or combined with our low rate tariff).

    Priority Services Register

    Register for Priority Services

    If your client has particular requirements due to their age, ill health, a disability, mental illness or additional needs, they can register for Priority Services so that we can take this into account.

  • Apply for Assist or Restart

    For Assist and Restart we expect customers to have received free independent debt advice and completed a financial budget as well as our application form. It enables us to provide the most appropriate solution, tailored to their own financial situation and ability to pay.

    If you provide a debt advice service, you can apply on behalf of your client. You can do this using our online form or by completing a help with your water bills application form – you can find these on our Resources page.

    If this is your first time using the online form, you will need to register for an account. Please view this guide to help you create an account.

    We have a dedicated social policy team who will talk to you directly.

    If your client is with you or you have their permission to speak to us, the team will be happy to discuss their account with you. If you don’t, please ask your client to contact us to give their permission.

    If you don’t provide a debt advice service but feel your client would benefit from Assist or Restart, please refer them to an organisation who can help them. You can view all of our partners or you may know another organisation that you like to work with that provides debt advice.
