Citizens Advice South Somerset are recruiting a Chair and Vice Chair to join our Board of 9 Trustees.
Citizens Advice South Somerset is a local charity that was established in 1961 and a member of the National Citizens Advice network. Our work focuses on helping clients to prepare for, and manage through, key life events and change. We are passionate about our work, delivering excellence in prevention and advice services, and held in high regard by our local partners and stakeholders.
Having completed his 3 year term of office our current Chair of Trustees, Rod McDonagh, will be stepping down in the autumn.
Chair of Trustees: We are looking to appoint a new Chair of Trustees who can provide leadership to the Board and support for the Chief Executive. The Chair's aim is to enable the Trustees to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation. Our new Chair will have experience of governance and strategic leadership, a flair for relationship management and be forthright in their commitment to our values and development objectives.

Vice-Chair: We are also keen to recruit to the role of Vice Chair. This is a new position on our Board and aims to provide support and assistance to the Chair, CEO and Board. The Vice Chair will deputise for the Chair and will have lead responsibility for the annual appraisal of the Chair of Trustees on behalf of the Board.
We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse Board of Trustees and welcome applications from all sections of the community. These are very rewarding roles and in return for your commitment and time we offer training and reimbursement of out of pocket expenses.
