    • raising awareness of our many affordability schemes and increasing take up 
    • providing customers with expert and independent debt advice, benefits checks and income maximisation
    • alerting people to Priority Services and the extra care we can offer.

    Partner funding

    Funding for debt advice

    We fund partners who provide debt advice and apply for our main affordability schemes on behalf of their clients.

    Funding grants are determined by the volume of applications to our schemes in each year. Grant application forms for existing partners are now open until 12th April 2019.

    We also fund local community projects to reach out to customers in the most deprived areas and to develop customers' financial capability.

    Quarterly reports

    If your organisation currently receives funding from Wessex Water, or Wessex Water and Bristol Water, to provide holistic debt advice and apply for our affordability schemes on behalf of your clients you are required to submit quarterly reports.

    Wessex Water works with over 16 local Citizen Advice branches who provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities.

    East Bristol Foodbank provides three days’ of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred and in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

    Harmoney Community Interest Company and Harmoney Charity work together to provide a free-to-use, not-for-profit advice service for anyone who finds themselves with money worries.

    Hope Debt Advice Service is run by a group of Christians from various local churches who have a desire to help and support their local community. The aim is to provide free, confidential, unconditional and impartial debt and budgeting advice.

    New Start Debt Advice (NSDA) is a Thornbury Churches Together initiative. The services offered by NSDA include debt advice, help with filling in forms, budgeting, advice on getting the right benefits and signposting to other agencies/organisations. All free of charge.

    North Bristol Advice Centre provides free and independent advice and support in North Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

    Rural Services Partnership

    The Rural Services Partnership (RSP) is a long-standing not-for-profit membership company Limited by Guarantee. The RSP is a component of the Rural Services Network (RSN). The RSP is the non-local government part of the RSN and works predominately with both the private and third sector service providers in rural England.

    Working closely with the RSN’s local authority members, the RSP is the only national champion for rural services in England. The RSP works for the benefit of all rural sectors through a membership organisation which lobbies and advocates on behalf of rural service providers. The RSP lobbies for a fair deal for rural communities to maintain and enhance their social and economic wellbeing and viability.

    Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks

    Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) look after the wires and cables that supply electricity to your area, and fix power cuts as quickly and as safely as possible.

    Wessex Water and SSEN both have Priority Services Registers and are working with partners to provide customers with one point of contact to sign up to both Priority Registers. Through collaboration there are opportunities to reach out to more customers in their shared geographical area to offer extra help and support.

    Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness by providing advice, support and legal services. They also campaign to make sure that one day, no one will have to turn to Shelter for help.

    Talking Money is an independent charity dedicated to improving lives by tackling financial problems. The charity has been providing free, high quality advice and support to people in financial hardship for over 26 years.

    The Brigstowe Project
