  • Actions speak louder than words

    For the fourth consecutive year, we are celebrating the recognition we have received for our service to customers and staff with hearing needs via the 'Louder Than Words' accreditation from national hearing loss awareness charity, Action on Hearing Loss. The scheme recognises organisations who go above and beyond helping their customers and staff who are deaf or hard of hearing. 

    Our services for customers and staff with hearing difficulties include:

    • Deaf awareness training for front-line and customer service staff and for managers or colleagues of those affected
    • Live chat facility on the website and a Next Generation Text service
    • Subtitles added to our YouTube videos
    • Regular posts on our internal social media platform Yammer and our intranet of tips and info to support the hard of hearing
    • Hearing loops installed in meeting rooms.

    Action on Hearing Loss recently visited us to deliver some refresher training for our customer facing staff on how to deliver the best level of service to those with hearing difficulties which was an invaluable opportunity for our staff to recognise ways in which they can support customers in these circumstances as well as the barriers our organisation faces and how we can overcome these. 

    Following this, we received the news that we have been awarded the Louder Than Words charter mark for our fourth year which we were really pleased with and are keen to continue with the work we are doing to maintain this level of service and recognition.
