We’ve spent some time listening to our customers’ thoughts and concerns about how we can help the environment, protect our rivers and beaches, and make sure there is enough water in the pipes for generations to come.
We agree that there are improvements to be made, which means upgrading and building new infrastructure, as well as harnessing nature to improve water quality. Delivering these improvements will affect customers’ bills from 1 April 2025, so we want to help you plan ahead.
How much will bills increase?
The balance of keeping bills affordable and deciding how much money we can invest into our infrastructure is decided with our regulator, Ofwat.
Ofwat has now issued its final decision for the 2025-30 period, setting out how much we can collect from customers from charges. Ofwat has approved £2.9 billion of new investment over the 2025-30 period. This investment will deliver service improvements across our water and sewerage networks.
This means that bills will increase as of April 2025. We are currently finalising our charges to apply from 1 April onwards, and we will publish these in full by the start of February 2025. But we will continue to offer a range of targeted support for those who need help, and customers who are already on one of our Assist tariffs will see their charges go up by less than inflation.
You can find out more about why bills are set to increase and how much by.
