Applications are open for our Wessex Water Foundation Community Fund.
We're looking to help projects that are at the heart of the communities we serve, so this fund aims to support activities or projects that meet a local need and seek to improve the lives of local people who most require support.
These activities or projects should be informed by the people or community and have considerable reach and wide community benefit, with priority given to work that fulfils one or more of the following:
- takes place in areas of multiple deprivation or rural isolation where people lack access to local services
- helps build stronger communities - enabling people to work together and create solutions to local challenges
- helps people take steps to manage or avoid debt and build their financial capability. This can include activities that raise awareness and take-up of utility affordability support, including Wessex Water schemes.
Last year, 58 groups and charities across our region benefited from grants totalling £167,000 from our Community Fund.
Some of those fantastic beneficiaries included:
- Somerset-based group Game Changer, who was awarded £3,150 to support a weekly project that brings together neurodivergent adults or those with a learning disability to access a weekly social club centred around gaming.
- Warminster and Westbury Youth Club in Wiltshire, who was awarded £3,000 to support weekly sessions for young people.
Grants of up to £4,000 are available for our latest round of funding and we work in partnership with Quartet (Bath, Bristol and South Gloucestershire), Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire Community Foundations to make sure funding goes where it's needed most.
If you have a charitable or community activity that could benefit from our Community Fund, please do get in touch with them about applying.
Applications opened on Monday 23 September and closes on Friday 18 October. For more information on how to apply, visit The Community Fund | Wessex Water.
